Two Harbors, MN
"Colored Gophers to Meet Clydes - Local Ball Club Will Meet Fast Minneapolis Nine at Two Harbors Saturday. - The Minneapolis Colored Gophers and Clyde teams will clash in the first of a two-game series at the Two Harbors ball park Saturday afternoon. The second game will be played Sunday. The Gophers are rated as the best independet team in the country and is made up of men who are good enough to play in the big leagues and the only thing that is keeping them out of the big show is the color. The Clydes have made a wonderful record during the last two seasons and in taking on the Gophers followers of the game fear that they are biting off more than they can chew. Manager Dan Pederson will start Fred Delbernin Saturday's game and will have Donaldson hurling Sunday. Carl Cashion will be used in the box if needed. The big fellow will be in the lineup whether he pitches or not. His hitting ability is too well known for his name to be left out of the lineup."
