"End Season With Victory Over Cuban Giants - Prindle's Three-Bagger Won Game in Ninth Inning. - Cubans Were In the Lead - Long Hit to Right Field Sent Two Runners Over the Plates - Score 5 to 4 - With the score 4 to 3 in favor of the Cuban Giants and two men on bases in the last half of the ninth inning Prindle lifted the ball out into right field for a three base hit and Bennington had won its last game of the season by a score of 5 to 4. Had Prindle been in his usual form he would have been able to have made the circuit of the bases on the swat. There was a good-sized crowd in attendance at the final game and it was an excellent exhibition. One strange feature was the fact that out of the four hit made by the colored players of Johnny Bosk all but one came from the bat of the fast center fielder, Clark. For three innings Bosk retired the Cubans without a hit but in the fourth Clark followed up an error by Brill with the first of his three hits and another error by Finnegan put two runners over the plate. Clark hit safely the second time in the 6th and stole second but the side was retired on easy outs. In the ninth Clark was the first man up and hit the ball into right center for one of the longest drives ever seen on the grounds. The batter made the circuit of the bases on the hit. An error by Delaney permitted the next batter to score. Hits by McCrehan and Brill and an error in left field gave Bennington 2 runs in the second. A base on balls and Finnegan's three-bagger in the fifth registered another tally. During the sixth, seventh and eighth innings neither team scored and it looked as though the home team were going to win the game 3 to 2. Then came Clark's homer in the ninth and the long fly to right field permitting another run and the Cubans were one to the good. In the last half of the inning Brill, the first batter was passed. Burrington laid down a bunt along the first base line and advanced Brill to second. Bosk hit to short and Brill made a break for third. On an attempt to catch the runner at the dizzy corner the ball was badly handled and both runners were safe. Then came Prindle's wind-up hit into the right garden and the season was ended."
